Rainy Hike

We went for a hike last weekend with Marty, Mindy, and kids. The leaves are barely starting to change color, so it was really pretty, but I'm sure it will be way prettier a week from now.

We had some tricky weather. As we waited for this to clear,

and for this to wake up,

we took some cheesy couple photos.

I didn't get a good one of Mindy (sorry)

The weather started looking prettier, so we headed up

We tried to take a deceiving picture and make it look like Mindy's barely shorter than me. But you can still tell I'm an amazon woman.

The weather tricked us again, and it started to rain. We weren't very prepared, and everyone got soaked. Lydia loves getting wet, so she had a blast.

The weather cleared again, so we headed back further into the foresty mountain. Then, the skies burst forth in their fury, and we got pelted with mammoth size raindrops. We ran down the mountain, Marty and Mindy in the lead. (How do they move so fast? They have tiny legs!) Ryan nearly fell a few times because he was wearing shoes with no grip and there were some minor mudslides quickly forming. Smart.

Here is the gang all soaked and miserable (or at least pretending to be miserable) at the bottom of the mountain.

Having survived the rainstorm, we were rewarded with this!

Hey you guys...love the pictures. It's really beautiful up there. I especially love the pictures of Lydia. She is such a little cutie pie. It looks like she is getting more hair.
